MONDAY IN TOPEKA

For our non US readers, Jesse James was a notorious outlaw of America’s old wild, wild west. We think he would have appreciated yesterday’s lineup in Robert Vandiver’s final at the Jesse James Kennel Club show in Topeka KS. Five of the seven dogs had not made a final in the four previous days.

CH Pyrpressure L’Orgueil

Only the the Whippet, CH Starline’s Chanel, and the country’s number one dog, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, had been in the earlier Topeka finals (You may remember that Sadie made all five finals and won three of the previous four shows). The five other hopefuls were the Golden Retriever, Claircrest Key Ingredient, the Great Pyrenees, CH Pyrpressure L’Orgueil, the Shih Tzu, CH Symarun’s Look N Good, the Bulldog, CH Dicky's Nostradamus, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Delux Think Tank At Runamok.

The Canadian Shih Tzu, who will turn two on Friday, picked up his first AKC BIS. Congratulations to breeders/owners Carol & Carrie Randle and handler Amanda Carlson.
