BACKWARDS BIS IN ILLINOIS

CH Pepper Tree Zorro V Morganwald

We sometimes wonder if the dog show crowd in Illinois are Louis Carroll fans celebrating un-birthdays and living life in reverse.  This past weekend the first we heard from the four day Bloomington IL cluster was on Monday when we got…Monday’s results.  We next received the results from Saturday and Sunday.  We have waited 36 hours certain that someone would send in Friday results, but it seems we will have to wait until someone wearing their hat on backwards enters the data into the Onofrio computers.  Whatever they do in Illinois, we have been advised that time waits for no dog.  So we will give you what we got and get on with it.

The news is that the Standard Schnauzer, CH Pepper Tree Zorro V Morganwald, won last week’s Standard Schnauzer Club of America’s National Specialty and then followed it up with BACK2BACK BIS.  The Illinois Valley Kennel Club Of Peoria and the Corn Belt Kennel Club teamed up for the four show weekend with a first me, then you system.  On Saturday the CBKC asked Dawn Hansen to choose her Best.   In addition to the Schnauzer,  she had the option of the Golden Retriever, CH Glengowan’s Great Balls of Fire, the Whippet, CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands,  the White Bull Terrier, CH Bulliard’s Good Hearted Woman, the Pekingese, CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar, the Tibetan  Terrier, CH Ri Lee’s Stellar Performance, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Clemwood’s Nobel Laureate.

On Sunday, the IVKCP put James Reynolds  in the final ring with Zorro, the above named Tibetan Terrier & Aussie, the English Springer spaniel, CH Wil-O-Rion Twenty Twenty, the Bloodhound, CH Huggables Blue Lace Agate, the Border Terrier, CH Tyrolian Eight Belles At Meadowlake, and the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, CH Southdown Nonetheless. Zorro’s regular handler Jody Paquette had the lead at the Specialty and Sunday’s final.  Jody’s partner, Leonardo Garcini, had the honor at Saturday’s show.   Congratulations Jody, Leonardo, breeders Earl Holst & Arden Holst, and owner Penny Duffee.
