YOUR DOG SHOW OPTIONS

Old Silver Beach Sunset
Falmouth, Massachusetts

After a week of show cancellations that left exhibitors with few choices, we have a full array of options this week, with 40 all breed shows in 17 locations.

New Englanders will be in Falmouth MA starting tomorrow for the Cape Cod Kennel Club’s & South Shore Kennel Club’s four shows.  In Upstate New York, the Kennel Club of Niagara Falls will host a Saturday/Sunday twofer.   However, we expect to see lot’s of  the Metro New York crowd at the Pocono Mountain Kennel Club‘s Thriusday & Friday shows in Gilbert PA and the Lehigh Valley Kennel Club & Berks County Kennel Club shows in Macungie PA on Saturday & Sunday.

Fanciers in the great Lakes States will not have to drive far for a show this week with  Saturday/Sunday shows in Lancaster OH with the Licking River Kennel Club, in Goodells MI with the St Clair Kennel Club (Toy enthusiasts should show up on Friday for the Great Lakes Toy Club’s limited breed show), in Manitowoc WI with the Manitowoc County Kennel Club, & In Rochester MN with the Rochester Minnesota Kennel Club.

Our Southern fare consists of  a limited breed show & two all breed shows in Pinehurst NC courtesy of the Carolina Terrier Association  & the Moore County Kennel Club of North Carolina, a traditional two show weekend hosted by the Chattanooga Kennel Club in East Ridge TN, and a stop in Verona MS for the Tupelo Kennel Club’s two shows.

In the Heartland you can visit the Greater Lafayette Kennel Club in Lebanon IN or the Three Rivers Kennel Club Of Missouri at the Purina Farms complex in Gray Summit MO.  In the Southwest your choices are four shows starting Thursday in Amarillo TX with the ambitious Panhandle Kennel Club of Texas or two shows with the Prescott Arizona Kennel Club in Chino Valley AZ.

There will be lot’s of limited breed and all breed action in Farmington UT where the Intermountain West Working Group Club, the Group IV Terrier Club Of Salt Lake, & the Beehive Toy Group Of Utah will all do two limited breed shows on Thursday and Friday, followed by Saturday/Sunday all breed shows hosted by the Bonneville Basin Kennel Association.

Out on the West Coast it is either the Sir Francis Drake Kennel Club’s two shows on San Francisco Bay in Vallejo CA or the Wenatchee Kennel Club’s Weekend in the central Washington town of  Cashmere.

Grab the digital camera, pack up the family SUV, and head for your nearest AKC show.  Come on, you know you need a break from reality TV & the 24/7 news cycle and there’s nothing to take your mind off of it like man’s best friend.
