It’s day two for the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club and day four of the five day set in that Mid Atlantic town.  Today Bill Shelton greeted the Weimaraner, GCH CH Northwood’s Send Money Honey, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Whirlaways Ida Belle's A Ringing, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

It was the nation’s Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Affenpinscher, Joey, picking up his 28th big rosette of the year.  We will have to wait until all the weekend’s numbers are in before we can tell you if it was good enough to move him into the Number Four spot.

  1. How close are the races between the Affenpinscher and the Peke for #1 Toy, the Whippet and the Ibizan for #1 Hound, the Smooth and the Wire for #1 Terrier, etc?

  2. I don't have all this weekend's numbers in of course, but the only group races that are still in question are the Hound & Herding. The Whippet is up about 3,000 on the Pharaoh Hound and the GSD has around 2,000 on the Beardie. The Smooth Fox is up almost 4,000 on the Wire. Mathematically possible, but unlikely.

  3. The Peke and Affenpinscher?

  4. The Peke has around 7,000 points on the Affenpinscher. Beckham has a 36,000 point lead in the Sporting Group, the Boxer has a 13,000 point lead on the Kuvazs, and the two Poodles are better than 10,000 points apart.
