FORT LAUDERDALE DOG CLUB 1

GCH CH Sunburst One Cool Dude  

Dog fanciers in Florida are in Davie FL for the Fort Lauderdale Dog Club’s two shows this weekend.  Jon Cole selected his Best from the Brittany, GCH CH Credit Where Credit Is Due, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Lochnaw Something Good, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Starrdogs Faye Wray of Silverback, the Skye terrier, CH Of Skyeline Captain Hook, the Maltese, GCHCH Chrisman's Shiny Toy Gun, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Sunburst One Cool Dude.  

BIS was the Sheltie, Fonzie.  It’s the first all breed Best for Fonzie and handler Gina Grosso.  Congratulations to Gina, breeder Sharon Crawford, and owners Lorrie Reed & April Dunford & Karen & Kevin Alderman.

LOUISVILLE DAY THREE

The Evansville Kennel Club just wrapped their mega show here in Louisville KY.  More than 3500 dogs came to play.  Among them were some of the finest to be seen anywhere in the world.  The seven who made it to Carolyn Taylor’s final were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Dhu Mohr Pennant’s Quilleran, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH After All’s Painting the Sky, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker’s Rumpus Bumpus.  

It was the little dog, the MinPin, Classie, taking home the big points.   Classie is already the Number One Toy Dog and the Number Eight Dog All Breeds and this win will likely help her move up a couple of places.  However, The Number One, Four, Five, Six, & Seven dogs are also in Louisville picking up big points in the Group (today’s Working Group had 730 dogs entered).  Check back with us next week and we will give you the most up to date standings you can get any anywhere.

KANSAS CITY MO DAY TWO

GCH CH Pem We-Syng Lucky Mi  

The Levenworth Kennel Club had so much fun on Thursday in Kansas City MO that they did it all over again on Friday.  This time it was Robert Hutton in the final with the Brittany, GCH CH Trio's Mr. Rocktober, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech innovator, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D's Remember When, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Homebrewed Page Three Girl RN, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Pem We-Syng Lucky Mi, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hot N Spicy, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Frontier License to Carry at Margaux.     

For the second day it was the Toy Group representative, this time the Chin, Mimi, getting the big rosette.  We believe it’s the first AKC BIS for Mimi and handler Nancy Martin.  Congratulations to Nancy, breeder Patricia Mushrush, and owners J Dalton, Dr J Turjoman,  M Ballard & N Wright.

LOUISVILLE DAY TWO

We are back in our hotel room, eating left over pizza, while we file this show report from day two in Louisville KY.   Dog show enthusiasts, even more die hard than we, are still at the Kentucky Exposition Center for a round of  breed specialties and the first night of the breeder stakes.  

Beverly Capstick called the BIS for today’s Louisville Kennel Club show.  Her lineup featured some of the best to be found anywhere, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, an eight year old Scottish Deerhound from the Veteran class, CH Witsend Saline, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH AfterAll’s Painting the sky, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe v Tani Kazari, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me and My Shadow.  

Walking away with all those points was the Doberman, FiFi.  FiFi is the country’s Number One Working Dog and Number Six Dog All Breeds on the strength of six BIS, including four of the largest this year.

YORK PA DAY TWO

GCH CH Bon-Clyde's Take One

It was the Lancaster Kennel Club's turn yesterday to host in York PA and Nancy Liebes' turn to pick a BIS. Her options were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca's Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Sorting Field's Bahama Sands, the Akita, CH Wicca's Trade Secret, the West Hihland White Terrier, GCH CH Skyrhigh's MKC Bonaparte, the Shih Tzu, CH Krissy's Savy Jasper, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight's Ruffian, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Bon-Clyde's Take One.

Best was the Border Collie, Action. It's the first BIS this year in six finals for Action.Congratulations to breeder/owner Bonnie Buchanan and handler Greg Strong.

 

 

KANSAS CITY MO DAY ONE

The show week is busting out all over with major clusters in York PA, Louisville KY, & Kansas City MO.  Yesterday in Kansas City the Leavenworth Kennel Club got things rolling with Polly Smith in the final ring with the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech innovator, the Tibetan Mastiff, GCH CH Dreamcatcher Major Victory Of Loki, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Broxden Danea, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla's Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Vaje’s Jethre Bodine, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Frontier License to Carry at Margaux.  

Best went to the Maltese, Hank.  It’s the first this year for Hank and breeder/owner handler Tara Martin Rowell.  Congratulations to Tara, co-breeder Vicki Abbott, and owners Debbie Burke & Ron Scott.

LOUISVILLE DAY ONE

GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky  

We are here in Louisville KY, still reeling from canine sensory overload, after watching some nine hours of judging at today‘s Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club show.  We feel like a kid locked in a candy store.  The day ended with Clinton Harris mulling over a choice of the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Speed Demon, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dancing Queen.  

He chose the Wire, Sky, as his Best.  This girl has made it a practice to win the big ones, debuting last month with back2back wins in Chicago.  With wins like the one today, you can bet this girl will be showing up in the Top Twenty in the next couple of weeks.

YORK PA DAY ONE

Our dog show week got underway yesterday in York PA with the York Kennel Club show, the first of five all breed she's at that location this week. Howard Atlee's final featured the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca's Thrilling Seduction, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry's Pandora's Box, the Bernese Mountain Dog, GCH CH Alpenspirit Just In Time, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Skyehigh MKC Bonaparte, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Dalmatian Spotlight's Ruffian, and the Australian Shepherd,GCH CHEquinox Ad Astra.  

The first BIS of the week went to the Foxhound, Jewel. With six all breed Bests this year, three so far this month, Jewel has her sights set on a Top Twenty ranking.

SAN ANTONIO TX DAY FOUR

I spent the better part of today traveling to Louisville KY for this week’s Ketuckiana Cluster, After checking in, unpacking, & navigating the hotel’s WIFI, I logged onto my computer to catch up with the rest of the dog world.  Much to my chagrin I find that I still owe you all a report on Sunday’s San Antonio Kennel Club Show.  

Anne Katona had the final day of the four show set and her pick of the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration With Traddles, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of style, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s ring of Fire, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the Keeshond, CH Ashbrook Mr. Chairman, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hill's Money Talks.  

Her BIS was the Aussie, Cash.  It’s the first for Cash and owner handler Leon Goetz.  Congratulations to Leon & breeder Heather Braddock.

SEATTLE KENNEL CLUB 2

GCH CH Windemere’s Dusting Of White   

The Seattle Kennel Club was the only game in town this weekend.  Actually it was the only show site on the West Coast this weekend.  You can read about Saturday’s show here.  Sunday BIS judge Ekarat Sangkunakup greeted the English Setter, GCH CH Oakley's B'Dazzled, the Redbone Coonhound, CH Eskai's Sir Kasper, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Caryola's Antigua, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH AfterAll Painting The Sky, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windemere’s Dusting Of White, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Bendigo Kasey Of Willowbrook.  

The Thai judge chose as his Best the Peke, Dusty.   Dusty is currently the Number Three Toy Dog and the Number 13 Dog All Breeds with four BIS this year.

GARDEN CITY KANSAS KC

GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont  

The hometown Garden City Kansas Kennel Club gave local dog lovers three days of shows this weekend.  Friday’s finalists were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Antares Bobby Jones, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Gallant’s First and Foremost v Ciden, the Airedale, GCH CH Epoch’s Time Bandit, the Cavalier, King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Vaje’s Jethrene Bodine, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Bit of Heaven’s Sorceress.  

Day one went to the smallest among them, the Cavalier, Teddy.  It’s the first this year for Teddy & handler Clint Livingston.  Teddy and Clint picked up seven BIS and 32 Toy Groups in 2011.  

GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall  

Saturday Judith Brown would see the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Fieldfine’s Pure Gold CGC TDI, the above named Bloodhound, the Samoyed, GCH CH T-Snow Star’s Beyond Destiny, the same Airedale, the Shih Tzu, Symarun’s Love T’Look, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Barnstorm’s Grissom TT CSI, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me and My Shadow of Cornus. 

Her choice for BIS was the Bloodhound, Credo.  It’s the first this year for Credo who had two BIS, 26 Hound groups, & a BISS at the American Bloodhound Club national specialty last year a Congratulations to  breeders Susan Hamil, Lori Burch, & Lyn Sherman,  owners Michael and Kimberly Hansen, Susan Hamil, & Lori Burch, and handler Doug Carlson.  

GCH CH Rocheuses Me and My Shadow of Cornus  

They wrapped it up on Sunday with Nancy Simmons and Credo, the aforementioned Doberman, Airedale, Shih Tzu, & Bouvier, the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Buddy’s Bobbity-Bop Blue Moon RN, and the Schipperke, Bon Chien Showtime at the Apollo.  Her Best was the Bouvier Casper.  It’s the fourth this year for the country’s Number One Bouvier.

COLUMBIA MISSOURI KENNEL CLUB

In the American Heartland, you could find dog fanciers at the Columbia Missouri Kennel Club’s two shows.  The seven who stayed all day on Saturday to see BIS judge Lorraine Boutwell were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Argos Gem Seeker @ Sundown, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Solana Big Lebowski, the Havanese, GCH CH Marcosas Slip Slidin Away Of Skyline, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hot N Spicy, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Daybar Blew By U.  

Her Best was the Boxer, Danny.  DOG2WATCH Danny is off to a very good year and is currently the Number 12 Dog All Breeds.  We will have to wait a couple of days to see if Saturday’s BIS will put him into the Top Ten.  

GCH CH Dawin Hot N Spicy  

Sunday Jim Briley would see Danny, the same Whippet, Havanese, Standard Poodle, & Beardie, the Pointer, CH Marsha Alydar Endless Love at Solivia, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cumhil Hellraiser.  His BIS was the Standard Poodle, Sasha.  We’ve had our eye on this girl for a while.  This is her first BIS in four final appearances this year.  Sascha and handler Sarah Riedel made 12 final appearance in 2011.  Congratulations to Sarah, breeder/owner Linda Campbell, and co-breeder Nancy Wilson.

AUBURN IN

GCH CH Keno’s Witching Hour 

Our next stop is in Auburn IN to tell you about the Logansport Kennel Club’s two show this weekend.  Saturday the seven who gathered at the end of the day were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Undelete Queen's Armada SL, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Keno’s Witching Hour, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Broaden Dania, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Knoll and Amber Moon, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Günter’s Gussied Up Edna, and the German Shepherd Dog, Willow lakes Chances R.

Best went to the Giant, Dora.  It’s the first Best In Show for Dora and the first for handler Kate Batzner, standing in for Phil & Amy Booth.  Congratulations to Kate, Phil. Amy, breeders/owners Robin & Ken Greens lade, co-breeders Karen & James Mancini, and owner Luke Norton.

Sunday, the GWP, Dachshund, Giant, & Smooth were back for a second go.  Rounding out Jane Ripoll’s seven were the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Pam Wising Lucky Mi, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Black witch Chantilly Lace, and the Briard, CH Dena Vu Mia Cool  As A Cucumber.  It was another of the Blue Rose Kennels’ dogs, the GWP, Oakley, grabbing the BIS.  Oakley currently sits in the Number One Dog All Breeds spot with eight all breed Bests.

MILTON NY

GCH CH Whistletop's Riley On Fire  

After a weekend where the news in the dog world has been dominated by controversy from overseas, it’s never been more of a pleasure to do our Monday Morning Mop up and focus on the dogs here in the US.  We start in Milton NY where the Monticello New York Kennel Club & the Saw Mill River Kennel Club teamed for three shows.  The MNYKC was first up on Friday with Ken McDermott making the final decision.  

The seven seeking his favor were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistletop's Riley On Fire, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Brakenshire Scotch N Ice, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore Diamond Lil, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash JP Sakura, the Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Georgio Armani, and the Beauceron, CH . Beowolf Rime Des Monts Du Lac.    

His Best In Show was the IWS, Riley.  It’s the first this year for the two year old, who took home a Sporting Group four from Westminster last month.  Riley sends a shout out to her half brother, CH Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic, who won the Gun Dog Group this past weekend at Crufts.  Congratulations to Riley’s breeders Colleen McDaniel & Stacy J Duncan, owners Tom Urban, Bethany Urban, & Gregory Siner.   

GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box  

The above named Lakeland, Poodle,  & Beauceron would be back at the MNYKC’s day two show on Saturday to see Chuck Winslow along with the Weimaraner, GCH CH Northwoods Send Money Honey, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Siberian Husky, CH Kontoki's Isaiah Little Prayer For You, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian.   

His BIS would be another young bitch, the Foxhound, Jewel, our newest DOG2WATCH.   Just 27 months old, this year’s Westminster breed winner adds her fifth BIS to her already impressive 2012 record.  

The SRKC would finish it all up on Sunday with Sheila Balch in the ring with the aforementioned IWS, Deerhound, & Siberian, the Irish Terrier, Kell’s touch of Fleet Street, the Long Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Roseland’s Eli, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Rough Collie, Diamante’s Crown Jewel.    Best was the four year old Siberian.  We haven’t seen much of this boy since he won the 2009 Siberian Husky Club of America National Specialty.  This is his first BIS this year.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Maria DePalma Thomas Oelschlager and owners N Wisniewski,  R Tang&  S Kao.

PALM BEACH COUNTY KC 2

GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare  

Down in beautiful Palm Beach FL, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, was making it two in a row, taking home today’s BIS at the Palm Beach County Kennel Club’s day two show.  Classie’s fellow finalists in Louis Auslander’s ring were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Bracon's Hot Shot At Daystars, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the Boxer, Ortego's American Gigolo, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Kambara’s Zebulon, the Standard Poodle, D'Gani Iconic Princess Di, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Sylvan Argetn simply Irresistible.

Classie’s seventh BIS of the year will be good enough to make her the Number One Toy Dog in the US.

FRANKLIN TN DAY FOUR

This has been a heady weekend in the dog world with much of the focus on England & Crufts.  However, here in the US dedicated fanciers soldier on, bringing the best of purebred dogs in the world to the American public.  Some of the finest were in Franklin TN where the Nashville Kennel Club capped a four day stop with their second show of the set.  Carole Beattie had the final and her choice of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Saluki, GCH CH Aurora’s The Song and Dance Man, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Norwich Terrier. GCH CH Skyscots Texas Hold’Em, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Krissy's Savvy Jasper, the Bichon Frise, Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey's Tails Of Mystery.   

The closer went to the Cocker, Beckham.  Beckham is having a great 2012 with 13 Best In Shows so far.

SAN ANTONIO TX 2 & 3

One of our favorite cities in the US is San Antonio TX where dog fanciers have been enjoying four all breed shows this week.  You can read all about Thursday’s Kennel Club Of Greater Victoria here.  The KCGV’s day two show ended Friday with Darryl Vice in the final ring with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Ring of Fire, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Topper, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, and the smooth Collie, Cayuga’s Isle of Hope.  

His Best was the AmStaff, Phoenix.  It’s the first BIS this year for Phoenix, who had two BIS in 2011.  Congratulations to breeders Ed & Karen Thomason, Dan Nechemias & Lois Claus, owners Jennifer Mosing &  Ed & Karen Thomason, and handler Brian Livingston.

On Saturday, the hometown San Antonio Kennel Club took over and asked Vincent Chianese to choose a Best In Show from five of Friday’s finalists and the Standard Poodle, CH Alzia's Blacktie Broadway Premiere, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hill’s Money Talks.  He chose the Boxer, Macey.  It was the second of the weekend for Macey and handler Michael Shepherd and their fifth of 2012.  That’s just one less than they had for all of 2011.  Looks like it’s a gonna be a good year for M&M.

SEATTLE KENNEL CLUB 1

GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore  

Amidst all the negative stuff from Crufts, we got this wonderful bit of news yesterday from the Pacific Northwest.  Tim Brazier returned to the show ring yesterday, after a four month absence recovering from heart surgery.  Tim’s Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, was Randy Garren’s Best In Show at yesterday’s Seattle Kennel Club show in that Washington city.  

Tim & Ally were accompanied in the final by the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Darkover Don't Dream It's Over, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Polo's The Aviator, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Kingslynne-Kimo NW Connection, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windermere's Dusting Of White at Pevyne, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Blue Isle's Bourree.  

It’s the fourth BIS this year for Ally.  We hope we get a chance to see her & Tim many more times this year.  Welcome back, Tim!
