SACRAMENTO KENNEL CLUB 1

GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar  

We are here in northern California for our granddaughter’s baptism.  However, being the dog show junkie we are, we squeezed in a side trip to today’s Sacramento Kennel Club show.  Two days of Terrier only limited breed shows contributed more than 350 Terriers to the all breed event.  

Dr Scott Kellog’s final included the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Blossomhill’s Hello Dolly, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Caryola’s Antigua, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Casnross’ First Griff Tina Fey, the Bulldog, GCH CH Globe and Anchor Sgt Iron Mike, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar.  

Best went to the Corgi, Allie.  It’s her third BIS in nine final appearances this year.

PERRY GA DAY TWO

GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch  

Today the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch, made it two in a row taking the big rosette at the day two show of Valdosta Kennel Club show in Perry GA.  Rounding out Lee Canalizo’s final were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Criston’s Enchanted,  the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D‘s Remember When, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan‘s Be Bop Baby, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight's Honor To Pillowtalk.   

Capi started the week as the Number Seven Herding Dog.  These two wins are worth nearly 3500 points and should be good enough to make Capi the Number Two Herding Dog and it’s only Friday.

PERRY GA DAY ONE

By far the largest entries this week are in Perry GA where nearly 2000 gathered for yesterday’s Valdosta Kennel Club show.  The seven who survived to see judge Barbara Dempsey Alderman were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargazr'n Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Raydachs Playing With Fire V Gleishorbach SW. the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Fortune In My Eyes, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.  

Picking up the three day set’s first big rosette was the GSD, Capi.  It’s the third this year for Capi and his second in the last week.

GROVE OK DAY ONE

This morning we gave you the last of last weeks reports.  Now we have the first of this week.  The dog show week started yesterday in Grove OK with the day one show of the Bartlesville Kennel Club.  James Hamm stellar seven included the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Chancellor High Flying Gladiator, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Devon Lady Semper Fi, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Symarun’s Love T’Look, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.  

Best went to the GWP, Oakley.  Oakley, the Number Two Dog All Breeds, now has an even dozen BIS this year and is sitting right on the shoulder of the Number One Dog

CATCHING UP ON ALABAMA

We are playing catch up on our reports with this from last week’s Columbiana AL cluster.  It all started a week ago Thursday with the Tuscaloosa Kennel Club’s first of two shows.  Charles Trotter chose his Best In Show form the Brittany, GCH CH Dual Lanes Cam JH, the American Foxhound, Kelly Mt Bearly Legal, the Boxer, GCH CH Ho-Pa’s Grand Slam, the Smooth Fox, GCH CH Broxden Waybroke Symphony Burlesque, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Keeshond, CH Trumpet’s It’s Good to be King, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

Picking up the first big rosette of the set was the GSD, Capi.  Last year’s Number One Herding Dog has been taking it easy this year, but has two BIS & 17 Herding Groups including a Group One at this year’s Westminster Kennel Club show.

Friday, Capi and the same Brittany, Boxer & Pug were joined by the Longhaired Dachshund, CH Seidach’s Diggin’ Up Bones, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Kambara’s Zebulon, and  the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowat’s Decisive Double Down, in Paula Hartinger’s final for the Birmingham Kennel Club.  Her Best was the Boxer, Mason.  It's the first BIS this year for Mason.  Congratulations to breeders Carol Hobbs & Marla Parsons, owners Steve & Ann Anderson, and handler Rick Justice.

GCH CH Karasar’s Remembrence            

Rufus & Capi would skip Saturday’s TKC show leaving Pat Trotter with the aforementioned Brittany, Australian Terrier, & Bulldog, the Whippet, GCH CH Karasar’s Remembrence, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Hemlock’s Jack of Hearts RA, the Pekingese, GCH CH Benaire’s N’Elphasun’s Razzmatazz, and the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Traveler’s Pierce Arrow.  It was the Whippet, Britannee, handled by very excited breeder/owner/handler Kerrie Kuper taking home her second big rosette of the year, and giving us what could be our favorite photo of the year.

Roger Hartinger closed the four day set, calling the BKC’s second final  The seven who stayed to the end were the previously named Brittany, the Whippet, GCH CH Liberty’s Absent inded Professor JC, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Newcstle’s Picturesque Picasso, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Moonrock Escape Velocity, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Cantex Gris Gris’ Sonofa Doc, the Bulldog, GCH CH Itsa Brix, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Karmuns Clean Sweep.  The fourth time was a charm for the persistent Brittany, Cam.  It’s the first this year for Cam & handler David M Harper.  Congratulations to David, breeders Louise M Brown & Herbert & Donna Harrison, and owners Christopher & Leslie Robinson & Katherine Sullivan.

GLENDALE AZ DAY FOUR

There was also Monday action out in Glendale AZ where the country’s Number Two dog All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, picked up the final BIS of the set at yesterday’s Arrowhead Kennel Club show.  Ken Buxton’s remaining six were the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the  Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin top Banana, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF, and the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Carben Copy’s If The Shoe Fits.   

Although all of the Top Four scored BIS this week, Oakley’s take home was larger than the rest and he enters this week with a little less space between him and Number One and a little more space between him and Number Three.

VALLEY CENTER KS DAY FOUR

 Norm Patton closed the four day set in Valley Center  KS.  His final final seven were the seven vying for the top award were the English Springer Spaniel GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Pharaoh Hound, CH Farouziah's Faramir, Samoyed CH Glacier's N Rowdy's Trouble, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH  Skyscot's Texas Hold 'Em, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Voici Where There's Smoke There's Fire, the Shiba Inu , GCH CH Dragon House That Jones Girl!, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Lonestar's Margarita Rose. 

Taking home the last big rosette of the stop was the Shiba Inu, Kaida.  It’s her first this year. and the first ever for breeder/owner Sandi M Smith as a handler.  Congratulations to  Sandi and owners Alice Schisel & John Schisel.

KENNEL CLUB OF YORKVILLE ILLINOIS

GCH CH Pem Wy-Syng Lucky Mi  

We still have weekend results for you and we will start in DeKalb IL where the Kennel Club of Yorkville Illinois treated us to two shows this weekend.  Dana Cline took the first day final choosing among the Brittany, GCH CH Star Flight Jumpin Jack Flash RN OA OAJ, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH .Hundeleben Queen's Armada SL, the Boxer, GCH CH Sapphire's Violet Sky In Vegas Of Streamline, the Norfolk Terrier, CH Max-Well's Diamond Thief, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Pem Wy-Syng Lucky Mi, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Barnstorm's Grissom TTCSI, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Frontier License to Carry at Margaux.  

He chose the Chin, Mimi.  It’s the third of 2012 for Mimi and handler Nancy Martin,  with all three coming in the last four weeks.  That’s good enough to say Mimi is a DOG2WATCH.

Sunday Dr Judith Newton saw the same Dachshund, Norfolk, & Tibetan Terrier, the English Setter, CH Stargazr'n Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Protocol Flagrante Delicto, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Knolland Amber Moon, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.  

Her Best was the Dachshund, Cheese.  Cheese is the Number One Dachshund, and  the Number Six Hound with two BIS & 12 Hound Groups this year.

SAN JACINTO KENNEL CLUB

We are going to start backtracking now across the US and go to Crosby Texas for a visit with the San Jacinto Kennel Club.  Saturday’s final was called by William Bergum who chose from the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, CH Chesabar's Anyone Anyone,  the Basenji, CH Sundiata's Desert Cowboy, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Seven Seas Auroras Adonis, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Rockyhill Icees Raisin' The Bar, the Maltese, GCH CH Chrisman’s Shiny Toy Gun, the French Bulldog, CH Tinkertime Justus Smooth Operator, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside’s Get Over It.  

He chose the Maltese, Gunner, as his BIS.  That’s the second this year for Gunner and handler Tonia Holibaugh.

Sunday, Gunner and the above named Miniature Schnauzer & Corgi, were back to see Dr Carol White-Moser.  Rounding out the seven were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Glengowan’s Great Balls of Fire, the Afghan Hound, Pahlavi I Believe I Can Fly, the Boxer, GCH CH Breho Fortuity Shared Treasure, and the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpet’s Winner Takes All.  

Her Best In Show was the Corgi, GiGi.  It’s the first BIS for GiGi, giving breeder/owner/handler Deb Shindle four consecutive generations of BIS winning bitches. Congratulations to Deb and co-breeder Tonya Jordan.

YOSEMITE KENNEL CLUB DAY TWO

Now we are going to one of the most beautiful places on the planet, Merced CA, for the day two show of the Yosemite Kennel Club.  Check out our report on Saturday’s YKC here.  

Among those that stayed all day to see BIS judge Barbara Dempsey Alderman were the Brittany, GCH CH Mich's Mt Ready Aim Fire, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Bonsai Winning Colors At Bullikountry, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR Chase What Matters, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Heatherhill Dazzle Me Montana.  

Her BIS was the Brittany, Tucker.  It’s the first this year for Tucker, who had a BIS & eight Sporting Groups in 2011.  Congratulations to owner/handler Kristina Rickard, breeders Michelle Chaney & Arlene Mccabe, and owners Tom Rickard, Lori Rickard, John Davies.

Sunday, saw Doris Cozart with the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante Fire When Ready HOF, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.  

We kinda like a Saluki at an Arizona show.  They seem so at home.  So did judge Cozart, choosing the Saluki, Bubbles, as her Best.  It’s the third for Bubbles and handler Erin Roberts this year and the second in the last three weeks.

Yesterday it was Don Duerksen in the ring with the Welsh Springer Spaniel, CH Clussexx Rolyarts Payola, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Soletrader Maggie May, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding V Sole Baye, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO’s Prosperity, the Finnish Spitz, Finkkila's Nalle Poike, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Borderframe Signature.  

His Best was the Schnauzer, Justin.  It’s the first BIS this year for Justin & handler Bergit Kabel and should move AKC’s Number One Miniature Schnauzer up in the all breed rankings substantially.  Congratulations to Bergit and breeders/owners Yvonne B Phelps & Ruth Ziegler.

SAGINAW VALLEY KENNEL CLUB 2

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up in Birch Run MI where the Saginaw Valley Kennel Club was camped for two days.  You can read our report on Saturday’s show here.  Sunday ended with Michele Billings in the final ring with the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Satya’s Eleven Eleven, the Basset Hound, CH Lyn-Mar Acres Yesteryear, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Airedale Terrier, CH Bleu By You, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Bells Will be Ringing, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Quiche’s Grand Finale.  

Best went to the nation’s Number One Non-Sporting Dog, the Standard Poodle, London.  London is also the country’s Number Seven Dog All Breeds with 15 BIS this year, the most by any dog this season.

TRAP FALLS KENNEL CLUB

Dr Daniel Dowling made it two in a row for the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby at today’s Trap Falls Kennel Club in West Springfield MA.  Rounding out his seven were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Red Hot ‘n Blue, the Scottish Deerhound, CH Brakenshire Scotch n Ice, the Rottweiler, CH Nighthawk's Livin' La Vida Loca, , the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me a Spot, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Finnish Lapphund, CH Lumiturpa Arvi.  

Sugar Baby started the week as the Number  43 Dog All Breeds.  We look for this weekend to catapult her up the rankings nearly 20 spots.

SHENANDOAH VALLEY KC 2

GCH CH Lobato’s Jitterbug Man  

Up in Harrisonburg VA, it was the biggest dog in the ring, the Great Dane, GCH CH Lobato’s Jitterbug Man, accepting the big rosette from Dr Ruby Hertz at today‘s Shenandoah Valley Kennel Club show.  James was challenged for the win by the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Dawnglow Night Rider, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe v Tani Kazari, a Miniature Poodle from the Open Bitch class, Bellefleet’s Living in the Fast Lane, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Masquerade Mikey Likes It. 

It is the first BIS this year for James and handler Marie Sommershoe.  James finished 2011 with seven BIS & 23 Working Groups.  Congratulations to Marie, breeders/owners Mary Ellen Thomas & Joy P Lobato, and owner Glenda Cole.

As an Italian Greyhound owner we are delighted to report that Janet Turnage Nahikian has made the IG, GCH CH Integra’s Masquerade Party, her Best In Show at today’s Piedmont Kennel Club in Charlotte NC.   

Joining Harley and breeder/owner/handler Mark Lucas in the final ring were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the 13“ Beagle, GCH CH Lanbur Quest for the Best, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Cypress Bay JL Snazzy Story At Avalon Bey, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Fortune in My Eyes, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Integra’s Masquerade Party, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Fantatico da Maya, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nite Song at Morningstar.  

It is the first BIS for Harley and the first for an IG in the last two years.  Congratulations to Mark and fellow breeder/owner Raymond Weyer.

We are going to start our holiday report in a holiday destination, Elkton FL.  (well, Florida is a holiday destination).  Norm Kenney had the day two final for the Greater Orange Park Dog Club and his choice of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Harrier, GCH CH Tallyho The Time of My Life, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When, the American Staffordshire Terrier, CH LBK‘s Petal to the Metal, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen's He's A Heartbreaker, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.  

Best went to the country‘s Number One Toy Dog, the MinPin, Classie.  Classie’s eighth all breed Best should be good enough to put her in the Top Five Dogs All Breeds.

Bill Shelton had the day two final for the Kachina Kennel Club in Glendale AZ and a powerhouse seven to choose from.  They were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Alcan Come Snodanc With Me, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash JP Winning Ribbon, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.  

Best went to the Wire, Sky.  Sky & handler Gabriel Rangel have been making an all out assault on the rankings since debuting at the International Kennel Club of Chicago in February.  Yesterday was Sky’s fourth BIS of the year and is sure to put he nation’s Number 17 Dog All Breeds closer to an Top ten ranking.
