BASENJI CLUB OF AMERICA

Kathy & Julie Jones, The “Basenji Sisters”

Two of our earliest readers here at Dog Show Poop were Kathy & Julie Jones, founders and owners of Jasiri-Sukari Basenjis in Reseda CA.  Kathy & Julie are known throughout the dog world as the “Basenji Sisters”.  Among the many accolades they have won was being named 2008 AKC Breeders of the Year for the Hound Group.

GCH CH Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin

Although Kathy and Julie have been breeding Basenjis for over 30 years, one award that has eluded them was a national specialty win.  Last week they were in Gettysburg PA to remedy that.  Among Dr John Reeves-Newson’s 300 entries at the 2012 Basenji Club of America National Specialty was GCH CH Jasiri-Sukari Win Tin Tin, bred and owned by Kathy & Julie, co-owned by Chua Ming Kok, and handled by Julie.    Not only was Winston’s Dr Reeves-Newson Best In Specialty Show, he was the winner of the Top Twenty Five as well.

Best of Opposite Sex to Winston was  GCH CH Meisterhaus Happy Hour at Signet, bred by A T Brooks & Brenda Cassell, owned by Dr Thomas Kirstein, and handled by Tim Huff.   Winners Dog was Sirobe Egotistical Rosewood, bred by Brad Phifer & Beth Redo, and is owned and handled by Brad.  Winners Bitch and Best of Winners was Jasiri-Sukari Just My Style, bred and owned  by Julie & Kathy, owned & handled by Eileen Bailey.

Our congratulations to Kathy & Julie and all the other winners and a special thanks to the Basenji Sisters for sharing their beautiful Basenjis with all of us for three decades.

BREAKOUT PERFORMANCE IN MISSISSIPPI

GCH CH Gordon's Bite Of The Apple
