ARKANSAS KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

The only dog show action south of the Mason-Dixon was the Arkansas Kennel Club’s shows in the state capital of Little Rock.   Doris Elaine Werdermann’s final seven were the Pointer, GCH CH Penpoint In Dress Blues, the Bluetick Coonhound, CH Charwin Fairmont Sweet Society Blue Snuff, the  Samoyed, GCH CH Glacier's N Rowdy's Czargent Trouble, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Devonshire Out Of The Starting Gate, the Ruby & King Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Glenleigh Gang's 'N Roses, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

Her top two were the Bichon, Governor, and the Sammie, Sarge.  It’s the first BIS for Governor and handler Ellen Akers Perry.  Congratulations to Ellen, breeders/owners Karen A Tormey MD, Lorrie Carlton & Larry Letsche DVM, and owners Renee Lauer & Sophie Bernard.

HARRISBURG PA DAY TWO

The biggest numbers this weekend are in Harrisburg PA and the biggest single prize of the week was today’s Penn Ridge Kennel Club show.  Doug Windsor chose his Best In Show from the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wymore Champagne Supernova, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kerry’s Pandora’s Box, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Robban's Invincible CD, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH  Blythfell Fergus, the Pekingese, CH Yakke Easily Persuaded, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

His top two were the Westie, Ben, and the Dalmatian, Ian.  It was the first AKC BIS for Ben and handler Margery Good.  Canadian born Ben had a memorable 2011 with breed wins at Westminster, Crufts, and the World Show.  Looks like he has established himself in the US as well.  Congratulations to Margery, breeder/owner Carol Hufnagel, and owner Sandra Middlebrooks.

LORAIN COUNTY KENNEL CLUB 1

GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It  

From Oberlin OH we hear that Judy English Murray’s BIS at today’s Lorain County Kennel Club show was the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It,  and her RBIS was the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands.

Also asking for consideration were the Brittany, GCH CH Shamrock Rivals Bolt Out Of The Blue, the  Siberian Husky, GCH CH Kontonki’s Isaiah Little Prayer, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Broden Danea, the Keeshond, GCH CH  Karolina Bonnyvale Meant To Be, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

The Pug, JJ, is, at 16 months old, is our youngest DOG2WATCH.   The precocious Pug already has seventh BIS to his credit.  We look for the Toy Group to get really tough before the year is over.

SOUTHERN ADIRONDACK KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari

The Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, made it BACK2BACK BIS  in Ballston Spa NY, taking the top prize at today’s Southern Adirondack Dog Club show.  Ron Menaker’s RBIS was the Boston Terrier, CH Flying Ford’s Mercury At Luckystars.  

Rounding out the BIS ring were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, and the Briard, CH Cusamano of the Coastline.  

Joey’s 25th BIS of the season puts the Number Five Dog All Breeds on the heels of the Number Four Dog.  This show season is going to get really interesting.

MOHAWK VALLEY KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari  

While our Number Two Dog, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova,  left Ballston Spa NY to collect a RBIS in Pennsylvania today, the Number One Dog, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, stayed behind, but was stopped in Paul Odenkirchen’s Sporting Group by different English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Red Hot N Blue.  

The Springer would join the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Bernese Mountain Dog, GCH CH Alpenspirit Just In Time, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Giorgio Armani, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Collingswood One in a Million NA NAJ in Robert Sharp’s final at today’s Mohawk Valley Kennel Club show in Ballston Spa NY.

Reserve today In Ballston Spa went to the Bernese, Justin, and Best In Show went to the Dog with more RBIS than any other, and more BIS than most, the Affenpinscher, Joey.  Joey is the Number One Toy Dog and the Number Five dog All Breeds with 25 BIS.

HARRISBURG PA DAY ONE

Many of the country’s top dogs descended upon Harrisburg PA today hoping to take home some of the points from the weekend’s biggest cluster.  Robert Fetter had the first final for the Penn Ridge Kennel Club and his pick of the English Springer, Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, GCH CH the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Whirlaways Ida Belle's A Ringing, the Akita, GCH CH CR -Wicca's Trade Secret, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan’s Be Bop Baby, the Pekingese, CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

His top two were his Reserve, the Springer, Peyton, and his Best In Show, the GSD, Capi.  The Number One Herding Dog for the last two years, Capi and legendary handler Jimmy Moses, have maintained a relatively leisurely show schedule this year, but still have managed to collect 17 BIS this year, three in the last week.

GLEN FALLS KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH D’s Remember When  

Like two canine heavyweights, our top two dogs took to the ring for the seventh time in the last eleven days, slugging it out for the right to advance to Dr Thomas Davies’ final at today’s Glen Falls Kennel Club show in Ballston Spa NY.   The German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, and the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, finished One & Two in Dr John Reeve-Newson’s Sporting Group.  

The GWP, Oakley, advanced to face the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Windfall Slam Dunk.

Dr Davies’ BIS was the Doberman, Jackson, and his RBIS was the Affenpinscher, Joey.  Joey has the distinction of winning more RBIS, seven,  than any other dog to date.  However the day, and the points,  belonged to the Doberman, Jackson and handler Gwen DeMilta, as they collected their eleventh BIS of the year.  Jackson is currently the country’s Number Two Doberman Pinscher, the Number Four Working Dog, and the Number 17 Dog All Breeds.

TOP TWO TANGLE AGAIN

GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm  

Our show week began with as much drama as it the previous one ended with our Top Two Dogs All Breeds going head to head once again.  The German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, met the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, in Ron Menaker’s Sporting Group at the Saratoga Kennel Club in Ballston Spa NY.  

It was the GWP Oakley advancing to Dr John Reeve-Newson’s final while the Springer, Peyton, finished the day with a Sporting Group Two.  Joining Oakley and handler Phil Booth in the BIS ring were the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, a Great Pyrenees from the classes, Monark Playing Foots, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Beauciel Presque Parfait, and the Puli, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Twist and Shout.

Oakley would top the group yesterday, while the Affenpinscher, Joey, would take the runner up spot.  Oakley’s 39th BIS of the year would extend his lead over Peyton by another 654 points, but then this was just the first of five shows in Ballston Spa this week,   Check back with us this evening for results on today’s Glen Falls Kennel Club show.

GCH CH Homebrewed Page Three Girl RN  

Before we start with this week’s shows, we have another set of results for you from Winona MN and the Coulee Kennel Club.  Saturday’s  CKC final featured Charlotte Clem McGowan and the American Water Spaniel, GCH CH Waterway Game Crk Hot Diggity, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield- Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Homebrewed Page Three Girl RN, the Pomeranian, CH Castilles Endless Love, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Evergreen’s Girls in White Dresses, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Ninebark Silver Buttons.  

Her top two were her Reserve, the Kuvasz, Tanner, and her Best In Show, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Daphne.  An eye catching black brindle, Daphne has five BIS this year, two in the last month.

Sunday, Daphne and Tanner were back for a second round as were the same Basset, and Australian Shepherd.  Joining them in William Usherwood’s final were the English Setter, GCCH CH Aerden’s Pretty in Pink JH, the Smooth Chihuahua, GCH CH Gaga Lady of Aqlla, and the Bulldog, GCH CH Evergreen’s Miss Congeniality.

She chose the largest and smallest in the ring for her BIS & RBIS, the Kuvasz & Chihuahua.  It was the 12th BIS of the year and the second in the last ten days for Tanner, the country’s Number Six Dog All Breeds.

BURLINGTON KENNEL CLUB

West Burlington IA was the site for three shows this past week.  You can read about Friday’s  Southeast Iowa Kennel Club show here.  On Saturday the Burlington Kennel Club took over with Robert Slay in the final ring.  The seven asking for his favor were the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinacle of Kilauea JH, the Irish wolfhound, CH Berwyck Shellane Provacateur, the Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Pem We-Syng Lucky Mi, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogel flight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Traveler’s Pierce Arrow.

His RBIS was the Bichon, Honor, and his BIS was the Vizsla, Mason.  It’s the first BIS this year for Mason who was the  BISS at the 2011 National Specialty of the Vizsla Club of America.  Congratulations to breeders Stephen Sullivan, Debbie Sullivan, Deborah Duty, & Melissa Thomas, owners Sandra Middlebrook, Deborah Verret, Susan Rushing, & Debbie Sullivan, and handler Karen Newman.

Sunday Mason and the above named Boxer, Schnauzer, Chin, & Bichon would try again, this time with Glora Kerr.  Rounding out the final were the Basset Hound, CH Barnyard 3 Oaks Spark of Hope, and the Belgian Sheepdog, GCH CH Sans Brancos Stunned at Kindred RN CGC.

Two dogs from California would take the top prizes, the Boxer Danny, the Reserve, and the Schnauzer, Justin the Best In Show.  Justin and handler Bergit Kabel leave town with their fifth BIS.

CRAB ORCHARD KENNEL CLUB

We still have results coming in from the past week.  The Crab Orchard Kennel Club checks in from Marion IL where they held their two shows this weekend.  On Saturday, the seven that made it to William Cunningham’s final were the Brittany, GCH CH Star Flight Jumpin Jack Flash OAJ OA RN, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Mahali Rustic Front Paige News, the Akita, GCH CH Buckridge’s No Doubt About It, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan’s Be Bop Baby, the Havanese, GCH CH Marcosa’s Slip Slidin Away of Skyline, the Standard Poodle, Vic-Tori’s Playful Perfection, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tailwind Papaw Ride’em Cowboy.

His Reserve was the Akita, Rocky, and his Best was the Brittany.  It was the first BIS for Jack in ten final appearances this year.  Congratulations to breeder  Marie Starsiak, owner Jacqueline Ceres, and handler Chris Jones.

Sunday, Jack, Rocky, and the above named Afghan, & Scottie, would join the Pomeranian, GCH CH Char’s sweet Obsession, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Alegria Independent Declaration, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lambluv Street of Dreams CD in Chris Walkowicz’ final.    It was Rocky’s turn to pick up the  big rosette while the Scottie, Betsy, would grab the Reserve.  Rocky has three BIS and 16 Working Groups to his credit this year and is in a tight race for Number One Akita this year.

MORE BACK2BACK BIS IN LA

GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style  

Two dogs dominated the four days in Kenner LA, with the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, taking the day one shows of the Louisiana Kennel Club & the Metairie Kennel Club, and the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, taking the day two iterations.  Check our archives for full results on the first three days.  

GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare  

Yesterday at the Metairie Kennel Club show, Frances Forrester chose the Boxer, Macey, as her BIS, and the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare as her RBIS.  Rounding out the final were the Irish Setter, Bellary n Beaubriar Dazzler, the Whippet, GCH CH Karasar’s Remembrence, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Fortune Forward, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.  

It was Macey’s tenth big rosette of the year in just 24 finals.  That’s grace under pressure.

BACK2BACK BIS IN CALIFORNIA

The Number Four Dog All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, continued her winning ways posting BCK2BACK BIS this weekend, taking both of the Richmond Dog Fanciers Club’s two BIS in Dixon CA.  You can read about Saturday’s show here.   On Sunday Sky and handler Gabriel Rangel were joined by the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistle Stops’ Wind on the Water, the RBIS, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Topaz Silver Lining, the Pug, GCH CH Winsome-Nirvana-Blaque-Triple-Play, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Kastle’s Go Speed Racer, and the Canaan Dog, GCH CH Pleasant Hill Magnum of Samara.

The two wins, Sky’s 17th & 18th of the year, were worth over 2600 points, puts her 3000 points ahead of the Number Five Dog, but still 9000 behind Number Three.

CANFIELD DAY FOUR OF FOUR

Canfield OH was the site of the week’s biggest points and the week’s biggest drama.  The gallery at yesterday’s Mahoning-Shenango Kennel Club’s Sporting Group watched the Number One & Number Two Dogs All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, and the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, meet for the third time in the four day set. (Check our archives on the lower right sidebar for reports on the first three days)   The Springer, Peyton, won the first two, but the GWP, Oakley would prevail on Sunday to advance to Robert Shreve’s final.

Oakley and handler Phil Booth would join the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Whirlaways Ida Belle's A Ringing, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Class Act by Hallsblu, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH We-Syng Royal Etiquette, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Pyrenean Shepherd, GCH CH La Brise Sun Bear.  Sunday the BIS would go to the Poodle, London,  and Oakley would close with the RBIS. London rejoins the Top Ten Dogs All Breeds with his 23rd BIS of the year.

If you were at a dog show in New England this weekend, you were probably talking about the weather.  However, the Pioneer Valley Kennel Club managed to get their show completed ahead of the worst of the weather.  

Cheryl Myers-Egerton’s final seven were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Homesteader’s Star Burst JH, the Whippet, CH Shamasan Island of Imagination, the Akita, GCH Hikay’s Witch With Attitude, the Lakeland Terrier. GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me a Spot, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Foxworth Follow Me Boys, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bella Ridge Imperiale Shady Harbor Mafia Campcovo, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH Nchanted Silk Lining.  

Her Reserve went to the Frenchie, Mafia and the points and BIS went to the Lakeland, Spot.  Spot is the Number One Lakeland and the Number Three Terrier with 12 BIS & 47 Terrier Groups.

Spot would be one of would be finalists at Sunday’s Cheshire Kennel Club show in Keene NH.  Only five others would finish their respective groups before show officials evacuated the show grounds because of flooding and lightening strikes rendered Wheelock Park dangerous.  

The five other dogs collecting Group wins were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Skypoint’s Our Ri ver Runs Free, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Brackenshire Scotch N Ice, the Doberman Pinscher, Dabney’s El Pistolero AKA Contador, the above mentioned Pom, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Ti Nan’og The Legend of Banzai Maguire.  We would like to recognize all those who made the decision to put the safety of exhibitors and spectators first.

BIS DEBUT IN MICHIGAN

In our Monday Morning Mop Up we have the fall out from the dramatic show down between our Top Two Dogs All Breeds, the cancellation of one show amidst frightening thunder storms, and the BIS debut by a promising dog.  We start with that promising debut in Marshall MI by the Boxer, GCH CH Draco Greets Dassin With FourBears.  Margee and handler  Kimberly Pastella-Calvacca left the four days with two BIS, a Group One, & a Group Three.

The only final that Margee did not make was James White’s  at Thursday’s Jaxon Kennel Club’s day one show.  The seven he did see were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH. Sastya’s Eleven Eleven, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundelben Queen’s Armada SL,  Great Pyrenees, GCH CH Beren’s Hope Of Thorn Hill, the Russell Terrier. CH Goldsand’s Columbus, the Smooth Chihuahua, South Folk’s Sweet Harmony, the Keeshond, Jo-Lyn’s Ferrari, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

Reserve went to the Dachshund, Cheese, and the Best In Show went to the OES, Elvis.  Elvis is the country’s Number One Old English Sheepdog, and the Number Four Herding Dog with two BIS and an admirable 31 Herding Groups.

Margee would pick up her first all breed BIS at Friday’s Jaxon Kennel Club show under Mary Anne Brocious.  Joining her were the RBIS, the Pointer, GCH CH Oncore Mykyna Storm, the Tree Walking Coonhound, GCH CH Alexanders Gold Rush Xcetera, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Sn’T’s Secret Weapon, the Pug, CH Hill Country’s Tag I’m It, the Xoloitzcuintli. CH Decoman Avanos, and the OES, Elvis.

Saturday Margee would return to see Carol Kniebush Noe along with the Clumber Spaniel, CH Don’s Big Bang, the aforementioned Coonhound, the Scottish Terrier, Rose’s Wild Wind Heavenscent, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Bells Will be Ringing, the Keeshond, GCH CH KJ’s Its Nothing Purrsonal, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Quiche’s Grand Finale.

Her RBIS at the Sturgis Kennel Club show would be the Shih Tzu, Willie, while Best would go to the nation’s Number One Keeshond, Chubbs.  Our congratulations to Chubbs and breeder/owner/handler Kristen Dowd on their first BIS this year.

Margee and Kim would wrap it up on Sunday with Carl Yochum at the Berrien Kennel Club show.  Rounding out the final were the Clumber Spaniel, Moonrysn’s That Girl, the Dachshund, Cheese, the Russell Terrier, CH Goldsand’s Columbus, the Shih Tzu, Willie, the Keeshond, CH Daimier’s Louis XIII De Remy Martin, and the above named Bouvier.   

The only Russell Terrier to win a BIS was RBIS.  But back to the debutante, Margee.  These are the first BISs for Margee.  Congratulations to Kim, breeder Larry Dosier, and owners  Dr William & Mrs Zoila Truesdale, Joseph Vergnetti, Jorge Pinzon, & Wendell Sammett.  With a team like that we bet we will see many more BIS by this one.

SALEM VA DAY FIVE OF FIVE

It was deja vu all over again for Roger Hartinger, who closed the five day stop in Salem VA.  His seven finalists at today’s New River Valley Kennel Club had all been there the day before.

There was one difference.  While the GSD, Capi, repeated his BIS win from yesterday, today’s RBIS was the Giant, Dora.  Mark that as the 16th all breed Best for the country’s Number One Herding Dog.

The Hunterdon Hills Kennel Club held their single show today in Ringoes NJ.  Ray Swidersky chose his best two of the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH Cabin Ridge's Mega Margarita, the Afghan CH MaZshalana’s Torn Taji, the Akita, GCH CH CR -Wicca's Trade Secret, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Dogwood Treasure Hunter, the Chinese Crested, CH  Storytime Rocky Road for Gingery, the Schipperke, GCH CH De Lamer Black Ice, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Pine Hill's Payday Of Hays Hill.  

Reserve went to the Afghan and Best to the Akita,  Trader.  It’s the fourth BIS this year for Trader & handler Heather Bremmer, their second in the last month.

Barbara Dempsey Alderman had charge of the west coast’s only final today, the Richmond Dog Fanciers Club show in Dixon CA.  The seven vying for the BIS were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, a Doberman Pinscher from the classes, Foxfire Street sense, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windemere Dusting of White at Pevyne, the Keeshond, GCH CH  Windrift's Follow The Money , and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH  Hatch Tille de la Salsa.   

RBIS was the latest from Doberman specialist Michelle Santana, and the BIS was the only Terrier in the Top Twenty Dogs All Breeds, the Wire, Sky.  Sky is currently the Number Four Dog All Breeds with 17 BIS this year.
