DAY FOUR IN FORT WAYNE IN

Fort Wayne continues showcasing the country’s top dogs.  Witness Keke Kahn’s final seven, at today’s Marion Kennel Club show, the country’s Number One Sporting Dog, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the 13” Beagle, GCH CH Lanbur Angel Wears Prada, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Gordon’s Bite of the Apple, the country’s Number One Toy Dog, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the country’s Number One Non-Sporting Dog, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the country’s Number One Herding Dog, the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

Her RBIS was the country’s Number 12 Dog All Breeds, the GSD, Capi, and her BIS was the country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the GWP, Oakley.  Oakley, adds an additional 1200 points to his lead with his 60th BIS of the year.

We love our small “boutique” shows here in the south, where there is time to visit with friends and finish Best In Show at a reasonable hour.  However, that does not mean that we don’t expect major competition to show up.

At today’s Brandon Kennel Club of Mississippi in Forest MS judge  Audrey Lycan chose her top two from the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summits Sonny Side Up, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Soletrader Maggie May At M & M, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore Diamond Lil, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Fox Creek JP Isn’t She Lovely, the Havanese, GCH CH Yup’s Malibu Dream, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylens He’s A Heartbreaker, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Hearthside Leave A Message.

Finishing one/two were our DOG2WATCH, the Great Dane, Scout, and the Standard Poodle, Thomas.  Scout has been making her presence known lately with three BIS in the last two weekends for a total of twelve in 2012.

Dr Donald Gill had the final on day three in Knoxville TN.  The seven gathering in his BIS ring at today’s Tennessee Valley Kennel Club were the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence,  the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Bret D Gabriel's Lost Art CD RE, and  the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nitesong at Morningstar.

Collecting her second consecutive BIS was the Foxhound, Jewel, while the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, picked up her second RBIS of the set.  Jewel is the winningest American Foxhound in AKC history with 28 career BIS, all in 2012.

The Tidewater Kennel Club Of Virginia is the first in today with results from their day two show in Virginia Beach VA.  Robert Fetter’s super seven were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Stelor's Royalty Remembered, the GCH DC Ableaim Que The Music MC, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Norfolk Terrier, CH  Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Pug, GCH CH Caper’s Sirius Endeavor, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

Reserve went to the country’s Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Doberman, FiFi, and Best In Show went to the country’s Number Five Herding Dog, the OES, Elvis.  Elvis and breeder/owner/handler Jere Marder have collected three all breed Bests and 47 Herding Groups this year.

Fort Wayne IN continues to be the site of the biggest slugfest of the year as several of our top dogs are having to fight their way out of their respective groups to get to the BIS ring.  Once again the Number One and Number Two Dogs All Breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, and the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, took the top two places in the Sporting Group and once again it was the Springer, Peyton, advancing.

Joining Peyton and handler Robin Novack  in Ben Helfrich’s final were the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, the Bullmastiff, CH Dal Primo Magic Moment, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Gordon’s Bite of the Apple, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

Taking home all the points was the country’s Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Affenpinscher, Joey.  Reserve went to the nation’s Number Eight Dog, the Standard Poodle, London.  Joey’s 34th BIS of the year  increases his led over the Number Two Toy Dog to more than 2600 points.
