RARE TOLLER BIS IN MINNESOTA

GCH CH Pikkanokas Lightning Bug

With the increasing number of shows with less than 400 dogs competing, many of our exhibitors have been looking for venues with bigger numbers.  On recent opportunity were the four shows two weeks ago in Cambridge MN.  The Anoka County Minnesota Kennel Club opened the set and asked judge Gloria Kerr to choose her top two.  Her options were the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Pikkanokas Lightning Bug, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Kryslaurs Blueprint Carbon Copy SC, the Bernese Mountain Dog, Holidays Singular Sensation, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Dunham Lakes Scout Master, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR Chase What Matters, the Keeshond, CH KJs Hot Date, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Lismores Phantom Legacy.

Her Best In Show was the Toller, Flash.  Her Reserve was the Australian Terrier, Scout.  It would be first of two BIS for Flash in Cambridge.

GCH CH Summits Emery It’s In the Bag

At the ACMKC’s day two show Fred Bassett would consider an all new seven, the Golden retriever, GCH CH Summits Emery It’s In the Bag, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Aspens A Hard Act To Follow, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Ziemaboras Strut Your Stuff, the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, CH Shandalee Fireworks, the Papillon, GCH CH Brevette Kid Incredible, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

BIS went to the Golden, Chloe, and RBIS to the Sheltie, Satoshi.  It’s the sixth BIS in 25 final appearances this year for Chloe and breeder/owner/handler Beth Johnson.

GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege

The Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club took over on Saturday and put judge Fay Strauss in the final ring with the Golden, Chloe, the Bloodhound, Borus Breaking News, the Samoyed, GCH CH Samkotas Hushabye Baby, the Australian Terrier, Scout, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the previously seen Bichon, Dominick, and the Sheltie, Satoshi.  It was Scout taking home the big rosette and the Bichon, Dominick, with the Reserve ribbon.  It’s the first BIS for Scout and the first this year for an Australian Terrier.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Theresa Goiffon, co-breeder Ellie Goiffon, and owners Tim & Jane Steinmetz.

GCH CH Sporting Fields Heiress Hsas

The Toller, Flash, would collect his second BIS of the set at Sunday’s closer.  Joining him in Bob Schreve’s final were the Saluki, CH Blue Nile Special Keeper, the above named Bernese, the Australian Terrier, Pom, & Keeshond, and Reserve winner, the Border Collie,  GCH CH Sporting Fields Heiress Hsas.  That makes three BIS in seven final appearances this year.  All three BIS have come in the last five weeks.

  1. Kerr did not judge BIS on Thursday, it was a man from Brazil. This makes the toller, Flash the top winning Duck Toller of all time after his second BIS in Biloxi, his first came in late 2011.
