BIG WEEKEND IN CALIFORNIA



GCH CH Absolutely Talk Of The Town

This week’s biggest points were in Northern California’s Diablo Valley where the Skyline Dog Fanciers Of San Mateo County and the Del Valle Dog Club Of Livermore teamed up for three days drawing more than 7000 dogs in the regular classes. The SDFSMC had the Friday slot and finished the day with judge Suzanne Dillin in the final ring with the Irish Setter, CH Vermillion’s Sea Breeze, the Otterhound, GCH CH Aberdeen’s Under the Influence, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Roseknoll Sunny Benjamin, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Absolutely Talk Of The Town, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Paragons Sharp Dressed Man At Greengates, the Keeshond, GCH CH Summerwind’s Rumor Has It, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

Taking the day one BIS was the Smooth Fox, Taylor.  The RBIS went to the Portie, Quatro.   Taylor is the Number One Smooth Fox Terrier and the Number Ten with 11 BIS and 27 Terrier Groups in limited showing this year.

Saturday’s Del Valle Dog Club Of Livermore was the week’s biggest prize with 2295 dogs actually competing.  The seven dogs asking judge Joan Anselm for all those points were the above named Irish Setter, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Mistic’s Longfellow Serenade, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cambria’s Kid N Play, the Havanese, GCH CH Oeste’s Flirt’n With An Outlaw, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar.

Collecting all those points was the winner of last month’s Standard Schnauzer Club of America National Specialty, Schweitzer.  Getting the RBIS was the MiniBull, Kid.  Schweitzer had topped an entry of 44 Standard Schnauzers to top a Working Group of almost 500 dogs.  It was Schweitzer’s third BIS in five final appearances this year.

The DVDCL would do it all over again on Sunday with Dr Klaus Anselm in the final ring with the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH JavaHillSurf2 An 8 Second Ride, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Camelot’s Red Hot Tamale, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Border Terrier, GCH CH McHill’s HRH Prince Gizmo House Of Gremlin, the Chinese Crested, CH Kulana’s Sh-Boom, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay’s Power & Privilege, and the previously seen Corgi.

It would be that Corgi, Allie, and the Standard Schnauzer, Finn, finishing one/two.    Allie is AKC’s Number Three Herding Dog with nine BIS and 38 Herding Groups.
