NEW DOG2WATCH IN PORTLAND

CH PaRay Preferential

Two days ago few of us in the fancy had heard of theShetland Sheepdog, CH PaRay Preferential. Today he is the Number Three Dog AllBreeds and he did it by twice defeating the Number One Dog, the Wire FoxTerrier, GCH AfterAll Painting the Sky. Thetwo met at today’s Dog Fanciers of Oregon, which, at over 2700 dogs, was theweek's biggest prize.

GCH Windbourne HD Ranch King Of The Road

Also among Dr Gareth Morgan-Jones' finalists were the ClumberSpaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, his RBIS, the Black &Tan Coonhound, GCH Windbourne HD Ranch King Of The Road, the StandardSchnauzer, GCH CH Charisma's Maxim v Diable, the Havanese, GCH CH Oeste's Flirt'n WithAn Outlaw, and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore.

It is a very auspicious beginning for the Sheltie, Satoshi, and breeder/owner/handler Tray Pittman, enough so for us to say, DOG2WATCH.

CHANNEL CITY KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer

The Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, finished 2012 as the Number 11Dog All breeds, but spent a good deal of 2012 in the Top Ten.  In his first appearance of 2013 at yesterday’s Channel City Kennel Club show he announced his 2013 intentions loud and clear, picking up the Best In Show.

His competition for judge Larry Libeu’s favor were the English setter, GCH CH Oakley’s B’Dazzled, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding V Sole Baye, his RBIS, the Pomeranian, GCH CH CR Chase What Matters, the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH Mickywins Mainio Skandia, and the Pembroke welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar.

Danny’s 2012 record included 23 BIS and 67 Working Groups.  Congratulations to breeder/owner handler Kimberly Steele-Gamero, co-breeder Gayann Jones,  and owners Roberta & Roberto Bezerra,  Barbara Bachman, C Desmond, & Gary Steele.

LIVONIA KENNEL CLUB DAY TWO

GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy

Judge Col Jerry Weiss’ top two at the day two show of the Livonia Kennel Club in Novi MI may not have been in 2012’s Top Twenty All Breeds, but we saw enough of them last year to know that they are likely candidates for that groups this year.  Col Weiss’ BIS was the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy, and his RBIS was the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Bells Will be Ringing.

Rounding out his final were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summits Emery It's In The Bag, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Gordon’s Bite of the Apple, and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction.

The Sheltie, Brother, was the first BIS winner of 2013 and has already this year matched his 2012 record of two BIS.  Yeah, the Top Twenty seems reachable.

CARROLL KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir

Last year’s Top Ten were noticeably absent from yesterday’s BIS winners.  In West Friendship MD judge Mary Jane Carberry made the Great Dane, GCH CH Seamus Lord of Dance and Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, her Best In Show and Reserve at the Carroll Kennel Club.

She might have chosen the English Springer Spaniel, CH Legacy Rainbow Icon, the Scottish Terrier, CH Invercrest Surely Why Not, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the Briard, CH Déjà Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber, but she didn’t.

As far as we can tell this is the first Working Group and first BIS for the 27 month old.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Douglas & Kristin Kish and handler Barbara Waldkirch.  Maybe someone will send us a photo to share?
