EVANSVILE KENNEL CLUB

The week’s biggest prize was today’s Evansville Kennel Club show in Louisville KY.  All of the seven had to get by strong competition in their respective groups before making it to Norm Patton’s final.  They were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz'R 'N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the 15” Beagle, CH Tashtins Lookin For Trouble, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan’s Wake, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsand’s Columbus, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.

Taking home the biggest BIS of his career was the Russell Terrier, Bosse.  Taking home the Reserve ribbon was the Standard Poodle, London.  Bosse joins the Kentuckiana Cluster midway after spending three days in York PA where he was Best at yesterday’s York Kennel Club show.  Today’s big BIS is his fifth this year.

Out in Kansas City MO, the Leavenworth Kennel Club held their second show of the set. This time it was Lorraine Boutwell in the final ring with the Pointer, CH Chesterhope State of the Art, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline's Oxford Victim Of Love, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Arsenal, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding V Sole Bay, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin’s Hearts on Fire, and the Border Collie, Tang Dynasty Rocky.

Her Best was the Schnauzer, Justin, and her Reserve was the Toy Spaniel, Prosperity.  Justin has been the nation’s Number One Miniature Schnauzer for the last two years and is the top winning Miniature Schnauzer in AKC history.  Yesterday’s win was his third of 2013.

It was day three in York PA, day two for the York Kennel Club, and judge Clay Coady in the final.  Joining him were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summit’s Emery It’s In the Bag, the American Foxhound,  GCHCH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Portuguese Water Do, GCH CH Claircreek Impression de Matisse, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Keeshond, Shainakeea Abundant Asset Is Mercy, and the Bearded Collie, CH Ha'penny Mirimar The Fab Fawn.

Judge Coady went with the little guys, giving the Peke, Rodger, the Reserve, and the Russell, Bosse, the Best In Show.  Bosse, the only Russell to win an AKC BIS, has four BIS this year.

SAME TIME THIS YEAR

Dr Steve Keating had the judge’s book in today’s final for the hometown Louisville Kennel Club and a superstar seven form which to choose his Best and Reserve Best In Show.  They were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Dogwdcreek's La Vita E Belle, the Otterhound, GCH CH Aberdeen’s Under The Influence, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni, Vidi, Vici, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Gunther’s Gussied Up Edna, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect.

His Best was the MinPin Classie, and his Reserve was the OES, Swagger.  Classie got a big boost last year with a BIS at the Kentuckiana Cluster.  This win, her 12th of the year, makes her the Number Two Dog All Breeds this year.

Kansas City MO joined the party yesterday with the Leavenworth Kennel Club opening the three day weekend.  The day one final was Brian Harris’ call.  He chose his op two from the Brittany, CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Dunstan Tucker, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Sierra Gold's Jackpot V Ironstone, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding V Sole Bay, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin’s Hearts on Fire, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

The BIS went to the smallest among them the Toy Spaniel, Prosperity, and the RBIS went to biggest the Rottweiler, Kenzie.  Prosperity was the Number One King Charles & Ruby in 2012 with two BIS and 21 Toy Groups.  This is his first of 2013 in three final appearances.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Mark A Landers, owner Ray J Cole, and handler Jeff L Wright.
