MIDDLEBURG KC DAY ONE

James Reynolds was in Leesburg VA to call the BIS at today’s Middleburg Kennel Club show.  The seven dogs hoping for his favor were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sandpiper's Castles In The Air, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Cypress Bay JL Snazzy Story At Avalon Bey, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Moonshine’s Magic Man, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

Finishing one/two were the Foxhound, Jewel, and the Welsh Terrier, Jennie.  Jewel is AKC’s Number One Hound and Number Six Dog All Breeds with 29 BIS and 89 Hound Groups.

The Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, extended his incredible winning streak to 21 in his last 22 outings, taking the BIS at today’s Delaware Ohio Kennel Club show.

Matisse would impress judge Robert Vandiver more than did the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sastya’s Eleven Eleven, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Raquel Welch of Malabo APD, the RBIS, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Maltese, GCH CH Divine’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Briard, GCH CH Lighting Strike El Xargall.

The win brings Matisse’s 2013 record to 75 BIS and 108 Working Groups.  That’s the most of any dog this year so far.

With 12 different shows available in the continental US today, it’s anyone’s guess where our top dogs will show up.  In West Springfield MA where the Queensboro Kennel Club hosted their day two show, the seven who made it to judge David Krogh’s final were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Neapolitan Mastiff, GCH CH Ironwood’s Paparazzi, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Lhasa Apso, CH Sutra Gemk’s Sweet William, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.

It would be the two smallest that impressed him, his BIS, the MinPin, Classie, and his RBIS, the Norfolk, Rider.  Classie is the nation’s Number One Toy Dog and Number Three Dog All Breeds with 52 BIS and an exhausting 102 Toy Groups.

BLOODHOUND BEST IN MA

It’s a lovely, cool autumn day in West Springfield MA where the Queensboro Kennel Club just wrapped up its show.  The seven dogs that judge Robert Robinson considered today were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Soonipi Friends in Low Places MLH, the Cane Corso, GCH CH Firehorse Franklin, an Irish Terrier, Fleet St Fire and Ice, the Havanese, GCH CH Fuzzy Farm Qbin Who’s On First, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.

Taking the first day BIS was the Bloodhound, Garth.  Accepting the RBIS was the IWS, Riley.  It’s the second BIS in three final appearances this for Garth and breeder/owner/handler Karen Dewey.

GCH CH Harmony Hills Money Talks

The Cen-Tex Kennel Club kicked off the four day Heart of Texas Cluster yesterday, celebrating their 50th anniversary.  The day ended with judge Sonny Ambrosio mulling over the Pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope State of T Art, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, Sunsweet Son of Africa, the Greater Swiss Dog, GCH CH Derby’s A Toast With Gusto, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know the Way to San Jose, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hills Money Talks.

Picking up his third consecutive BIS was the Aussie, Cash.  Taking the RBIS was the Pointer, Miley.  The win brings Cash’s 2013 record to five BIS and 24 Herding Groups.
